Elmo! Elmo!

Lance and I took Landon to see Elmo at the Centurytell and we had a such great time. Landon was locked into all of the characters at first, but then, like many of the two year olds there, lost interest here and there. Some of our buddy's from Ruston were able to join us and that made it fun for all of us.

Lance, being the banker that he is, was blown away with the mark-up items that were sold there at the show. And, yes, we were victims of spending $10 for an Elmo balloon that Landon just 'had' to have. Not to mention all of the food and cotton candy. Ok, the cotton candy was for me! ;)

My mom met us at the show too and she took Landon home with her that night. I was very grateful because Landon caught Kennedy's cold (that has lasted FOREVER) and he not going to school this week. So, I have gotten a much needed break (hence all the postings!!). Landon loves spending the night with them with all of the fun things to do there! He always cries so hard when he has to leave their house. But never cries when he has to go with them! After the Elmo show, when we told him he was going with KK, he was so quick to say, "bye mom! bye dad!" I just love him!

Here he is watching Elmo

Fabulous Folks

I just have to do a quick post to brag on my parents. I am so blessed to have such great parents who love and support their children unconditionally. And even more so love their grandkids just as much and want to be apart of their lives all the time.

This past Saturday was my mom's birthday and we got to celebrate it at Chuck E Cheese!! Yep, that's my mom! With me and my older brother, Klint, coming into town (Shreveport) with our kids, she wanted to take them there and have some fun with them while ate and hung out. I forgot my camera, but we had a great time with them. I will have to steal some pics from my mom's camera at some point.

We tried to stay in town for the Mardi Gras parade that night, but it got to be too much for us and we needed to get on back to Ruston. We did, however, go over to my cousin, Emily's, house for a Mardi Gras party. They live right next to the parade route. I know Landon would have loved the parade, but maybe next year!

Happy 5 months to Kennedy!

Kennedy is 5 months old today and it has been a wonderful day!!! Besides from the cold that she woke up with this morning, I can't complain. It's been just the two of us today and I am loving it!

Yesterday after church, I met my dad in Minden to have lunch and leave Landon with him. They haven't had them stay at their house in a while and they wanted him for the night. I just LOVE my parents and I am so blessed that Landon has such wonderful grandparents.

So, with the wildman gone, I have been able to catch up on sleep and do my taxes!

Happy 5 months, Kennedy! Oh, by the way, she rolled over today while I was trying to take her picture!! I will have to put her back in that position to see if she will do it again!

Ok, here she is rolling over!

A couple of videos

I have been laughing so hard at Landon this afternoon while we were filming with the video camera. My stomach is still aching!! Somewhere, Landon has picked up how to roll his eyes but I don't think he knows what it means (yet). I have been meaning to catch it on video. I had to throw in a couple of clips of Kennedy too! I forget to include her sometimes!! :0

Anyway, here is some clips from today.

Ahhh, the little things

I just had to share my excitement about something that most moms take for granted. I nursed Landon until he was 13 months, but I had only planned on nursing him until about 6 months. As much as I loved it, I needed some breaks. Well, Landon stopped taking a bottle (rather, I quit offering it to him) after 3 months of age. I bought every bottle there is possible and he refused ALL of them!! I finally just accepted that he never would take one and skipped right to the sippy cup.

Well, Lance and I have some events this week and we are going to have babysitters coming to help out with the kids at night time. So, I thought I would try to give Kennedy a bottle. She loved it!!! Never skipped a beat and wanted more. I have never seen a more beautiful site..... ;) And those of you who knew my frustration with Landon will be so glad!!!

Oklahoma whirlwind

My mom and I went on another adventure this past week. We left for Oklahoma City last Wednesday and got back this past Saturday. You know us, we love a good adventure! We drove all day on Wednesday and the kids did great. The only bad stretch was the last 20 minutes getting into OKC. Kennedy was hungry and Landon was getting super tired. For some reason, he never took a nap in the car which I was really surprised about. I think he was enjoying his new movies that I brought for the trip.

Thursday morning, we went to a mall to have a playdate with a friend of mine, Lacey, and her little girl, Emercyn, who is the same age as Landon. They were so cute together and loved playing on all the toys. Landon had so much energy and I was glad that he was able to burn it all off and take a good long nap in the hotel.

I didn't get a picture of it, but Landon loved jumping off of this!! Here he is sliding down it

After the nap, we headed out to Stillwater to watch Oklahoma State play Texas. It was really good to see Coach Budke and his staff. We were able to tour his facilities and hang out with his family some.

Friday morning, we went to the OKC zoo and Landon had a blast!! Of all of the animals he saw, I have to say that he loved the turtles the most!! I was shocked about it, but I think it was from his latest obsession, the Wonder Pets show.

Oh, and his favorite part...the turtles!!

After a long morning at the zoo, we headed to Lawton, OK to see an old friend of mine, Stacey Johnson-Klein, and her family. We used to work together at Tech and it was so wonderful to see her again and catch up. Her family was precious and we had so much fun staying at her house and watching our kids play together.

Then, Saturday, was back on the road again to head home. At our halfway point, we were able to stop in Denton to see my crazy Aunt Jennifer. It's always great to catch up with her.
